Australian born, Nicola Kinsella moved to New York City in 1999, and now resides in Hoboken, NJ. She has spent many years working in both large and small corporations in the areas of e-commerce, business analysis, project management and publishing.
She launched Nicola Kinsella Photography in May 2003, and enjoys portraiture of people and animals as well as bold studio shots of food and flowers. In more recent times she has focused her work on capturing the expressions of children. Her work is both beautiful and dynamic. Her pieces now adorn the walls of many New York City apartments and her portrait work is treasured by parents in the United States and Australia.
In addition to photography, Nicola, with her brother, has founded Dazzled, an Australian based business that facilitates school excursions for primary and secondary schools by bringing together vendors with educators and parents.
Nicola has combined her love of children and photography and education in her volunteer work, raising money for Kids With Cameras, and planning fundraising activities with Statement Arts (formerly World Art Project), both wonderful non-profit organizations. In May 2006 Nicola was honored to accept a position on the Statement Arts board.
Nicola is currently dabbling with a text message service, Text-It-On, and hopes to be able to provide photography tips via text message in the near future.
In her spare time Nicola enjoys sailing. She is an accomplished sailor, having completed numerous races, including Newport to Bermuda. She also enjoys cooking and plans to relaunch her cooktopia.com site in the near future.
